The project “Active Mobility Concept for Allach-Untermenzing" aims to create a sustainable mobility strategy tailored specifically to the growing district of Allach-Untermenzing in Munich. Guided by the principles of the 15-Minute City ("Stadt der kurzen Wege"), the concept addresses key local mobility challenges and promotes accessible and environmentally friendly transportation alternatives. The strategy integrates data-driven analysis, extensive stakeholder engagement, and innovative planning approaches, ensuring comprehensive consideration of the community’s mobility needs.

The project is implemented collaboratively by:

  • Plan4Better GmbH: Specializes in data-driven urban mobility planning, accessibility analyses, and advanced geospatial analytics.

Focus Areas

Within the consortium, the following specific tasks are being carried out:

  • Granular Data Collection: Systematic gathering and analysis of sidewalk/bicycle lane availability, width, surface quality, and traffic safety, alongside comprehensive barrier-free accessibility evaluations.
  • Accessibility Analysis: Detailed examination of pedestrian, cycling, and public transport accessibility, complemented by rigorous on-site inspections and evaluations.
  • Identification of Deficiencies: Data-driven pinpointing of shortcomings in existing pedestrian and cycling networks to inform targeted improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Comprehensive public participation through the city's digital platform, public events, and practical "walkability checks," integrating insights from previous public consultations.
  • Measure Development and Implementation Strategy: Formulation of specific, actionable mobility measures based on detailed analyses and citizen feedback, accompanied by realistic cost estimations and clear implementation strategies.
